CollingwoodToday, in partnership with the Georgian Triangle Humane Society, brings you a regular feature highlighting a special pet that is in need of adoption.

Meet Ben. He is the pet of the week.

At seven years old, this great dog is looking for a forever home.

Ben is a friendly guy who enjoys playing in water. He enjoys it so much that he had a blast going for a dip in the doggy pool at the Georgian Triangle Humane Society (GTHS) animal centre.

The GTHS team says he is good on leash. However, he does tend to pull when he is excited to sniff something. A family or single individual who can continue to work on his leash skills would be wonderful.

One important thing to know about Ben is that he doesn’t like medical procedures — he finds them quite scary. The GTHS team has rewarded him with treats during visits to the animal hospital to make him feel more comfortable.

He also gets excited when meeting other doggies, so slow introductions are recommended.
