The Meaford Hospital is now accepting donations earmarked specifically for COVID-19

The Meaford Hospital Foundation is asking residents to consider making a donation to the hospital, in order to help create a surplus for possible incoming COVID-related expenses.

The Meaford Hospital is reaching out to the community to let them know how they can support the area’s front-line workers.

“Your hospital team is here for you – please stay home, this will be a huge help to those working tirelessly to keep our community safe,” said Jen Wright, executive director of the Meaford Hospital Foundation in an email. “During this time of unrest, there are ways that you can help. By donating funds, it will help to purchase items needed for COVID-19.”

Wright says that at this time, it is unclear the specifics of what the hospital may need to cope with COVID-19, but says, “there will be needs that are not otherwise funded by the government. Having surplus funds set aside for COVID-19 will allow us to purchase what is required."

Volunteers with the Meaford Hospital Association will be delivering a lawn sign to residents who make a donation of $20 or more, allowing the community to showcase their support for the hospital and its front-line workers.

“For each donation of $20 or more one of our volunteers will deliver a 'We Support' sign for your front lawn,” Wright explained.

Funds donated will be put towards essential COVID-19 lifesaving equipment, technology and supplies.

“Thank you for your support during this pandemic. It has never been more important that we come together as a community to ensure that we are doing all we can,” Wright said.
