Grey Highlands sees one new case of COVID-19 over the weekend

The Grey Bruce Health Unit (GBHU) is reporting three new cases of COVID-19 in the region since Friday.

One of the new lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases was a Grey Highlands resident, bringing its total cases to four.

The two other positive cases reported this weekend are located in Bruce County - South Bruce, which now has one case in total; and Arran Elderslie, which now has three cases in total.

GBHU is also reporting a new outbreak at one of the region’s nursing homes - Parkview Manor in Chelsey. A single resident in the facility tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.

Currently, all staff and residents at Parkview Manor have been tested. Thirty residents have tested negative, with four pending cases. Thirty-eight staff members have tested negative, with four pending cases.

Brucelea Haven in Walkerton, which declared an outbreak on April 27, remains in outbreak status due to COVID-19.

The health unit is reporting 85 cumulative cases in Grey Bruce, with 58 cases being recovered. Currently, no one in the region has been hospitalized due to COVID-19.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases in Grey County include - Owen Sound (44); Southgate (7); West Grey (5); Blue Mountains (4); Grey Highlands (4); Georgian Bluffs (1); Meaford (1); Chatsworth (1); Hanover (0). Bruce County currently has 18 confirmed cases.
