Camper catches fire in Barrie McDonald's drive-thru

'The fire was controlled within five minutes after firefighters' arrival,' says deputy chief; No injuries reported

A fire broke out in a camper while the driver was ordering at the drive-thru of the north-end Barrie McDonald’s on Bayfield Street shortly before noon on Monday.

Deputy fire chief Carrie Clark told BarrieToday the call came in at 11:38 a.m. and there were no injuries.

"Three apparatus and the platoon chief were on scene five minutes after the 911 call,” said Clark. “The fire was controlled within five minutes after firefighters' arrival.”

No cause for the blaze was known as of yet.
